This Issue's Opinion

No opinion this month, my friends, unless you consider reminding everyone about the Cowboy Art Show and Sale at Art Encounter galleryDecember 5-10, during the National Finals Rodeo days here in Las Vegas. The event is co produced by Cowboy Photographers and Artists International and cowboy art show.com, and is held in conjunction with Art Encounter.

Art Encounter is Nevada's leading fine art gallery, and was Voted "Best Art Gallery" in the Las Vegas Review Journal reader's poll, Art encounter is home to over one hundred artists and has over 8,000 square feet of gallery space.

This event will not be your "grandpappy's art show". Fine artists using various media will be in attendance. On the lighter dide, is Cholla, the real equine artist. Cholla, who was seen (via video) painting on the Martha Stewart show at earlier this moth, has so far had a successful career. You will enjoy watching Cholla at work through courtesy of his video, while at the same time having the opportunity to see and purchase an original watercolor or one of his giclee' prints.

The different aspects of cowboy art will be seen at the show. For photography fans, you will see some really excellent work - work whose content and story telling will have you wanting to look at those art pieces day after day.

But this is all talk, and after all, as it is said, "the proof is in the pudding", so when you're in Las Vegas for the NFR, or some other reason at that time, be sure to come on over to 3979 Spring Mountain Road. We'll see ya'all there.

I receive all kinds of advertisements, books and catalogs in the mail, but the one I always look forward to is the Texas Art Gallery catalog. Long time readers of this newsletter will recognize this name, since a few images from the auction catalog have been shown here.

You can now visit the gallery, see the artists reprented, and get information on the November fixed price sale. While you are there, you can sign up to receive their auction gallery - it's well worth your time. Joe Chernicoff, CAPA Exec. Director
